Jeff Abel is a Canadian native, and been dropping that filthy, heavy, dirty, dubstep since 2004. Mr. Abel has gone on to co-found the Rotten Recordings label, and even started his own band, Destroid, with Downlink and the legendary KJ Sawka (that pendulums drummer for you non D&B headz). Not going to lie, the second coming (he had it last year too) of the 100,000 watt sound system grabbed my attention. Now I like Beatport as much as the next person, but when their bio of Excision reads:
“
shows are like no other- a virtual apocalypse of twisting and morphing sounds turn massive crowds into a frenzy, as virtual walls of bass are relentlessly impaled time and time again upon their fragile bodies and ears. Your ears will ring and your eyes will roll into the back of your head as you are suspended in what can only be called a true sensory overload. Bass will rain down from above for hours as Excision’s skills as a DJ and producer shine like an unholy light from the underworld.”
Getting back to that massive sound system courtesy of Canadian-based PK Sound, Excision is one of the best artists at using a range of frequencies known as infrasound, resonating too low (below 20 Hz’s) to be heard by the ears, rather, Humans can only feel these sounds aka they light your chest up. This is why most of our music sounds best live, and Excision is one of the best at using those below 20Hz’s to give the fans the upmost bass to their face (most home subwoofers do not play bellow 20hz = weak).
